We are home to the best comedy battles in Sydney. Every Monday at the top of The Bank, Waywards holds the Improv Comedy Cagefight – Sydney’s only weekly comedy battle.
At the Cagefight, comedians have a limited time to win your vote. No one in the audience gets picked on at the Cagefight. Instead, the audience are part of the show and help the performers with suggestions and humour. You will vote for your favourite comedians via our electronic voting system. The crowd’s favourite comedians will perform again!

Birdcage is a high-energy, late-night party celebrating Sydney’s queer community, with a strong focus on uplifting FLINTA* bodies. Running since 2013, Birdcage takes over Waywards Ballroom every Wednesday night, featuring DJs, non-stop drag shows, wild dance-floor moments, and a crowd that knows how to let loose. It’s a midweek institution for the bold, the sweaty, and the beautifully unhinged.

On Saturday 6 September at Waywards Ballroom, Newtown, six incredible emerging acts will deliver back-to-back 30-minute sets, covering the best in rock, pop, and alt.

The all-female steam punk metal band FATE GEAR is heading over from Japan and ready to conquer uncharted territory. With founding member Captain Mina at the helm, this band is well on its way to international success; conquering stages all over the world, battling enemies, hunting treasure and stealing hearts of metal fans along the way.
